I really enjoyed my day at the Manchester Craft and Design centre (www.craftanddesign.com) where I met Claire Gould, Calligrapher and creator of the English Wedding blog (www.englishwedding.com)
Claire was hosting one of her Modern Calligraphy Workshops teaching brides to be alongside other wedding vendors including florists, photographers and fellow calligraphers the basic skills of the art of calligraphy. She kindly invited me along to shoot a film for pkprophoto.uk and offer an insight to my readers as to what you can expect should you be considering a diy approach to writing your own wedding invitations.
Even though I wasn't actually taking part in the class I was struck by the welcoming atmosphere of the workshop and in no time at all the participants were busy learning their craft while chatting, laughing and listening to Claire's tuition which was delivered with a friendly smile and with her warm personality. I really hope that my film captures the fun of the session as well as demonstrating how the class is set up.
I know that Claire has received rave reviews about her workshop on her facebook and twitter feeds, up_creates wrote '..Such a pleasure meeting Claire, she's an amazing calligrapher and such a lovely person, if you're interested in learning modern calligraphy it's well worth attending her workshops.'
