Small Wedding Specialist

Updated: Dec 2, 2023

So 2020 became the year of Micro-Weddings, however long before Covid had an impact on weddings I used to offer both full-day photography packages and hourly rates for small, intimate weddings. As such over the years I have built up an extensive portfolio of beautiful, small intimate weddings hosted by many of our local Town Halls, Registry Offices, and Hotels in and around Cheshire, Shropshire, North Wales, Lancashire, and Merseyside. Venues which include Chester Town Hall, St.Georges Hall in Liverpool, Birkenhead Town Hall, Wallasey Town Hall, Manchester Town Hall along with many of the registry offices in the area including Chester, Manchester, Stockport, and Crewe for example.

The fact is that full-day coverage offers wedding photographers like myself the perfect opportunity to tell the story of a wedding day from preparation up until the first dance. However smaller, intimate weddings still provide plenty of fantastic photographic opportunities because there is often less time pressure with fewer people at a wedding and many of the town halls in the area boast impressive, historical architectural backdrops for your wedding photography.

I recall being contacted by one couple who simply wanted a couple of hours of photography coverage on a Wednesday afternoon at the beautiful Inglewood Manor, a local venue for me as I'm based in Frodsham in Cheshire. Other photographers they had contacted before me were insisting on charging their full day rate, for just a couple of hours of coverage. Now while I respect the fact that other photographers may operate a business model that may be different to mine, I have always felt that even if you just offer one main photography package as I do, you can still build in a degree of flexibility as every couples requirements can often differ.

So as outlined below, I have simply divided my full-day wedding photography fee to create an hourly rate should you require just limited coverage for a micro-wedding for example. I do reserve my engagement shoot and slideshow as exclusive, free bonuses included within my full wedding photography package, therefore an hourly rate is for photography coverage only. That said, you will still receive the same standard and intensity of creative photography whether booking for four hours or ten! And you can purchase an engagement shoot or photo film as an optional extra, click here to view optional extras on the FAQ & Pricing page.

Guide price based upon incremental, two hourly rates (minimum four-hour booking) additional fees for travel, parking, and toll fees may apply depending upon the wedding location, please note that a booking fee of £250.00 is required to secure your date. For details about my standard full-day package please click here: FAQ & Pricing

Up to Four Hours = £600.00

Up to Six Hours = £900.00

Up to Eight Hours = £1,200.00

For example, you can create your own package with an engagement shoot + four hours of photography coverage on your wedding day. Therefore an engagement shoot (£350.00) + four hours of wedding photography (£600.00) = £950.00 in total (£250.00 booking fee plus £700.00 balance to pay one month before your wedding day)
