When I was booked to photograph the wedding of Jessica and Gareth at St.Michael and All Angels Church in Middlewich, I was notified that the historic grade 2 listed church was undergoing a major restoration project. That said I hadn't anticipated the large corrugated panels which greeted me upon arrival, these panels completely covered one side of the church.
Fortunately I love to get creative no matter what the circumstances and as you can see in the last image on this blog post, I found a way to make the panels look like an interesting back drop for one of my photographs. A feature of the Church is a beautiful weeping willow which sits in the corner of the church gardens with its distinctive hanging branches and elongated leaves this also made for a lovely, natural back drop which I just had to use.
Gareth and Jessica and their family and friends including Jessica's fun loving bridesmaids, made it an enjoyable afternoon for me. The interior at St.Michael and All Angels Church is just beautiful so I made sure that I photographed a number of wide angle images from the back of the church. While doing so one of the younger guests decided that they needed to stretch their legs and go for a little walk. The fact that it was during the wedding service made for one of my favourite images from the day, as the little boy can be seen walking towards the camera while Jessica and Gareth a pictured in the background.
