One of the most interesting aspects of modern wedding photography is the opportunity to document wedding days across a variety of locations including Town Halls, Hotels and even outdoor festival style weddings. That said, I always welcome a return to a traditional church wedding, even with Covid restrictions in place. Personally I'm not religious, however I adore that sense of history and spirituality as soon as you walk through the door. And whether it's the beautiful stained glass windows or just the scale and the layout of such historic locations, there is just something about the light inside a church which creates a different feel to your wedding photographs.
Therefore I was delighted to be invited by Heidi and Dale to document their special day at the historic St.Mary's Church in Goosnargh near Preston. A cold but sunny day, I was greeted with beautiful blue skies and a warm welcome from Dale and his family and friends. Following on from an emotion ceremony, I completed the family formals before spending a short amount of time with Heidi and Dale on the church grounds. I really do appreciate it when the bride and groom are willing to ignore the cold (have I mentioned that it was cold!) and spend time with me capturing special memories that I am sure they will treasure.
