I first met Kirsty and Dan at a Cheshire Wedding Fayre and if you follow my blog then you may have spotted their engagement shoot which we shot at Delamere Forest in Cheshire earlier in the year. So later in 2019 we were re-united for their big day at the historic Crewe Hall in Cheshire, a lovely venue with friendly, helpful staff and a venue that I know well having photographed several weddings there before. The weather forecast for the day wasn't great so I came prepared with my off-camera flash kit and a bit of creativity to make the most of this stunning venue. Even on a rainy day, Crewe Hall offers many wonderful opportunities for creative photography combined with a little technical know-how.
It was lovely to meet up with Dan and Kirsty again, first capturing some of the fun and excitement during bridal preparation with Kirsty and her bridesmaids, then using the soft window light to create some interesting portraits with Dan, before heading out with the best-man and groomsmen to capture some fun photos in the grounds of Crewe Hall. I captured one of my favourite images of the day when I returned to photograph Kirsty again this time she was all set for her wedding day. I love capturing candid moments and telling the story of a wedding day through my images, the emotional reaction of her father when he first saw her in her dress is a perfect example of this, as a photographer it's an image that I am proud of however more importantly I hope that it's an image that Kirsty and her father will always treasure.
After a heart-warming and emotion ceremony we managed to venture outside for a short while to capture a group shot and a couple of quick bride and groom portraits before the rain came. So then it was back inside for some further couples images and line ups with family and friends before the wedding breakfast and capturing images both from the speeches that followed and the audience reactions! We ended the evening with the first dance and some high-energy partying on the dance floor, Kirsty and Dan and their family friends certainly know how to have a good time and I hope that my images reflect that.
